Nagasha Prossy is a 15-year-old girl from Lyantonde district, Uganda. By the time she was rescued by our partners, The Remnant Generation, she was four months pregnant and very ill. Since then, her health has further deteriorated to the point of threatening her life.
When she arrived at the shelter, Prossy had an enlarged spleen which was not responding to treatment. Making things worse, she developed a pattern of nosebleeds. This pre-existing condition was exaggerated by pregnancy to a terrifying degree.
As a result of her deteriorating condition, Prossy’s case tempted specialists to terminate her pregnancy. With the help of our in house nurse, God faithfully preserved Prossy’s life until she went into premature labor at 36 weeks.
After an emergency c-section, Prossy found herself holding a beautiful baby boy, weighing 2.1kgs (4.6lbs)! The next week was filled with further complications and concerns. Timmy was unable to breastfeed and lived with a nasal feeding tube while Prossy struggled through her recovery. Prossy and her son ultimately returned home to The Remnant Generation healthy and strong.
Through the Crisis Pregnancy Fund, we are witnessing a double impact; saving TWO lives at a time. These young moms understand that they are not alone; they have a dedicated team of staff that are ready to help them face very difficult situations with bravery and renewed hope in God.
