As you have seen in the news, Nepal has suffered a devastating earthquake and avalanches. As the victims of the tragedy try to survive and rebuild, now is the time for us to act. We are partnering with three other ministries to bring relief and hope to the people there. By working together, we can make a significant and lasting difference.
Among the tremendous urgent needs, is the need for clean water. This was already a huge need in Nepal, but is now much worse. A large percentage of the rural population gets their water from the rivers that are polluted by villages upstream. David Pearson, from IThirst International and Impact Nations, and Richard Welch, from Ugandan Water Project, will be traveling to Nepal with a few hundred water filters. This is the same partnership that brought hundreds of filters to victims of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. These filters will help not only with the victims' short term need, but as they last 10 years or more, their long term needs as well. Our goal is 400 filters. Time is of the essence as we leave at the end of next week. Please consider partnering with us to bring Hope and clean water to those who desperately need it.
We are also partnering with a team from India (Randeep and Anu Matthew's ministry) who will be taking a team of doctors and nurses into the earthquake zone to provide immediate medical relief to earthquake victims. We need to act fast, as the people need help now.
Please give generously.
